ToolBar Overview

HelpMaster uses a number of "toolbars" or "ribbons" to navigate throughout the application. The individual buttons on each toolbar or ribbon activate different screens. Clicking once on a toolbar will open a screen. To close a screen, use the standard Windows close button [X] at the top-right of the screen. The toolbar look and feel can be customized to suit the personal preference of each staff member who uses HelpMaster. The ribbon however, cannot be modified.

Master Toolbar Menu

File – Options to log off, write to the application log file and exit the program.

Edit – Standard editing functions together with the clipboard viewer.

View – Menu for the main working screens of HelpMaster.

Search - Options for searching for jobs.

Templates - Administration of Job, Action and Email Templates, as well as the Template Manager

Quick Launch – Attach all those important notes and documents to the quick launch for easier, faster access.

Reports – Create, edit and view reports.

Settings - Configure HelpMaster to display according to you specifications.

Modules - Configure the Email Manager, Priority Manager, Active Directory Manager and Web Interface if installed

Administration – As the name implies, administrative screens can be found here.

History – Quickly access your most recent HelpMaster activities

Window – Choose to cascade, tile or close you windows.

Help – Access online help, web update details and the about screen or register HelpMaster.

Note: The speed key is identified by whatever letter is underlined in the menu title. To invoke the menu via the keyboard, hold down the ALT key and press the appropriate key. Often times, this method of navigating your way through HelpMaster may be faster than by using the mouse to point and click.

Master toolbar

Clients - Access the Client screens where you can enter, update or delete a client.

Sites - The entry point to the Sites screens, add, modify and remove site details.

Site Hierarchy - A hierarchical tree displaying the sites in your HelpMaster environment.

Assets - Use this button to open your Asset screens so that you may bring asset details up to date.

Knowledge Base - The Knowledge Base Article screens where you can find, submit, read and remove a knowledge base article.

Problem Viewer - Add, delete or edit your issues.

System Codes - Enter new, delete or modify your System Codes.

Action Templates - Access your Action Templates for editing, creating and deleting.

Job Templates - Open Job Templates to edit, delete or add a new template.

Email templates - Update, add or remove Email templates.

Help - Open online Help.

Messages toolbar

Message Board - This button opens the Message board, where you can view any messages displayed there, delete and compile new.

Broadcast Message - Compose and send any new messages to a fellow worker or the message board.

Mail Editor - Create and mail emails.

Mail In Box - View incoming emails.

Find toolbar

Job Finder - Search HelpMaster for jobs or access your saved searches.

Advanced search - Use keywords to find Clients, Sites, Jobs, Actions or Knowledge base articles.

Saved searches - Display and edit saved searches

Quick Search - Enter the Job number, Client's name or site for a quick search.

Job History - Search job history for a given entity type

Entity search - Search for an entity

Jobs toolbar

Helpdesk Job - Create, assign and add an attachment to jobs.

Helpdesk Explorer - Open the Helpdesk Explorer where you can perform and access most of HelpMaster.

Queue Check - Check the job situation for you and your fellow HelpMaster users.
