Hi, I have version 12 and the new AD sync tool is great. There is one thing which I have just found that I'm not sure if it is by design or not. I have sync'd users from AD which had a title in the Job title Field in AD and the titles came across to the Job Title in HM no problems, however the problem only occurs if I blank out the Job Title in AD completely (IE nothing there) and then re-sync the user either automatically or manually, the job title doesn't remove from HM. However if I override the Job title in AD with something else it will update HM. This doesn't cause to much problems for me, but just though i would find out if this is by design. Kind Regards Jason

Thanks for the feedback for the new v12 release. This issue you have stated is by design. The main reason for this is if you have data entered in HelpMaster and then preform an AD sync we did not want fields that are not filled in in AD blanking out HelpMaster fields that a user has taken the time to enter. When data is synced from AD there is currently no flag set to state if it came from AD or a user entered the data, so we can not say if it came from AD then it is OK to blank it out. So in short AD will never blank out existing HelpMaster data. HelpMaster development team. Have you seen what's new in v13 yet?

Hi Scott Great thank you for the quick reply, so does that mean one day we can have HM updating AD fields if we allow them to? Kind Regards Jason

Hi Jason Currently we do not have plans to do a reverse sync from HelpMaster to AD, but we do go through our wish lists and discussion boards periodically when we are writing new features, so maybe one day in the future. HelpMaster development team. Have you seen what's new in v13 yet?
