Not sure if this is a bug or feature or limitation of the templating ... but...

When I add a file to a HD job as an attachment, it is automatically renamed after the job number.  Great.

However if I add an attachment (in this case, a templated checklist in Excel format) to a template, and then create a job based on that template, what I had expected to happen was that the attachment too would be treated like a template, and renamed in line with how other attachments get renamed.

    Not so :(

The attachment name remains the same.  So every job I log based on this template shares the exact same checklist file.  For some reference information that's great .  For attachments that need to be updated, as in this case, that bites

This is by design or is an oversight?

Are there perhaps tags (eg Job #, Client) we can insert into filenames to have HM recognise and replace when a job is logged?

    Thanks,

    D

Hi Daniel, unfortunately this is currently default behaviour. I have logged a new feature request, Job # 36788 to cater for your scenario in a future feature release. The only way to currently acheive this would be to manually add the Excel attachment when logging the job rather than attaching it to the job template beforehand. Sorry for the bad news.
