I turned on the Active Directory integration feature and all users validated fine except three.  In error I had the feature to delete users if not found in Active Directory so they got deleted?  I recreated the 3 users and they can now log in but they get the following message in the Active Directory Event log in HelpMaster v.15.8.5.

Description: Validation failed while updating a Member. Member Name = Anne Savoie (asavoie) , WindowsUPN = asavoie@CWCENTRAL.internal, distinguishedName=CN=Anne Savoie,OU=Central Site,DC=CWCENTRAL,DC=internal

All the data is correct so I don't understand the error since all my users are set up the same way and only 3 were affected?

    Any help would be appreciated.

I made it worse! I thought I would delete the 3 users and try again and see if it would automatically create the HelpMaster user when running the profile through the sync options. It's creating other new accounts but not these same 3?? This is from the log:

    ID: 127
    Date Logged: 04/13/2016 2:26:29 PM
Description: There are multiple HelpMaster Members linked to the same Active Directory user account
This is cause by either duplicate HelpMaster Members or too broad a search in an Active Directory profile
To fix this issue open the Active Directory Profile Administration screen and go to the 'Duplicate Members' tab
    Log Type: Warning

No duplicates were created? Or the 3 users? If I manually create them in HelpMaster they cannot log in - "the user name you have entered for 'asavoie' is invalid"

    Help!

I found this in the log - A .NET Framework error occurred during execution of user-defined routine or aggregate "geography"

    Any help?

Hi Anne, sorry to hear you are having problems. All HelpMaster (HM) modules including the AD Module use the .Net Framework v3.5 SP1 so 1st make sure that you have that framework enabled on the server hosting the HM AD service. Note that .Net 4.x Framework is not backward compatible so you will have to enable both frameworks if you also use 4.x for any apps. For OSs > 2008 R2 they are available from Roles & Features of Server Manager.

If the above is all well then chances are that you have 3 "deleted" duplicate clients in your HM database that aren't actually visible from the HM Desktop causing the duplicate error in the log. In this case we will need to run some SQL script to locate and correct this problem. I will contact you directly by email to send you the details for this solution.

    Hi Dennis,
Your directions helped me fix 2 of the 3 users. I have one that keeps getting the following message:
The user name you have entered for user 'mlandry' is invalid.

The user looks fine in HelpMaster and when I tried running the AD profile in HelpMaster and it reported:
    ID: 3049
    Date Logged: 04/21/2016 8:22:58 AM
Description: Client was successfully updated. Client Name = Michael Landry (mlandry) , WindowsUPN = mlandry@CWCENTRAL.internal, distinguishedName=CN=Michael Landry,OU=Central Site,DC=CWCENTRAL,DC=internal
    Log Type: Member Updated

    Still can't log in?

    Thanks,
    Anne
