    HI...

We are in planning phase of upgrading our helpmaster server hardware and I was wondering if SQL 2008 R2 is supported with v10?

So our server will be every thing x64 bit except for Helpmaster application itself. (Is there native 64bit Helpmaster)

    Regards

    Hi ping monster!

Yes HelpMaster v10 is compatible with SQL Server 2008 R2 x64 and there is a native 64bit version of HelpMaster available for download from our downloads area after logging in to our web site.

If you decide to run the 64bit version of HelpMaster you MUST also have the 64bit version of Office (Outlook) 2010 installed for emailing compatibility. One current limitation of the 64bit version is that it doesn't support reporting as Crystal Reports have not yet released a redistributable 64bit version of their software. Usually, however, on the server side reporting is not required anyway but just keep this in mind when deploying the client side HelpMaster Desktop application.

So if reporting is required on the client side the 32bit version should be installed which will also require a 32bit version of Outlook for emailing. I hope this helps in making your decision.

    Thanks Dennis.

As you pointed out, we don't use Helpmaster server as reporting.
It's all done from client PCs (x32 bit).

    Regards
