Hi Anne,
Sorry about the belated response but we haven't actually tested Windows Server 2012 yet. We are confident that there will be no issues as long as it's version of IIS has IIS6 compatibility like IIS7 does. This is only for HelpMaster Web Interface compatibility. We are just about to start testing and will post here our findings as we progress.
We have just started testing with SQL Server 2012. You'll be happy to know that all initial testing indicates no problems whatsoever hosting Helpmaster v12's database on SQL Server 2012 including the Express editions of SQL Server 2012.
To move your HelpMaster database from one SQL instance to another, it's as simple as taking a full backup of your current database and restoring it to your new SQL Server instance. This is no problem at all when moving from an older version SQL Server instance to a newer one e.g. from SQL Server 2005/2008 to SQL Server 2012. The only time this won't work by default is when moving your database from a newer SQL Server version to an older one, but even this is possible by turning on database compatibility mode on the newer SQL instance to the same version of SQL that you will be restoring it to.
