Today was the opening day of the 2008 PACRIM helpdesk conference held in QLD, Australia.

Today was the first day of the 2008 PacRim helpdesk convention held at the Marriot in Queensland's Gold Coast.

The conference opened with a great opening address by Malcolm Fry who spoke about the changes and challenges that face the service industry today.  After that, I headed back to the PRD Software booth to catch up with the rest of the team and configure the machines to display the latest version of HelpMaster Pro 8.1 which is soon to be released.  It was great to catch up with some existing users of HelpMaster Pro to discuss their current HelpMaster Pro implementations.  It was also a good opportunity to show off the new features of 8.1, particularly the new drag 'n drop enitiy linking, the knowledge base improvements, the full text search results ranking improvements and the new Active Directory module.

At lunch time, it was off to Coolangatta airport to pick up Russ, a representative of our UK distributor of HelpMaster Pro, who has flown out especially for this event and to catch up with the rest of the team behind HelpMaster Pro.

All in all, it was a busy day, and it was great to have so many people stop by the HelpMaster Pro booth to say hello and see what we brought to the convention.
