What better way to start the new year of 2009 with an upgrade to HelpMaster Pro v9!
In case you missed it, HelpMaster Pro version 9 was released on 19 December and contains a lot of new features, bug fixes and a brand new look and feel.
So far the uptake on version 9 has been positive. Quite a few sites have upgraded over the holiday season, and now that people are getting back to work, we are starting to see more and more upgrades each day. I'm happy to say that most are going smoothly with a few running into only minor issues that our tech team are working through.

Here's a few things to note if you're planning an upgrade.
- Make sure you are entitled to the upgrade. Version 9 requires a new registration code. Previous registration codes will not work. If you have a current annual maintenance support (AMS) agreement, then you are entitled to upgrade from any enterprise version of HelpMaster Pro (6, 7, 7.5, 8)
- Your existing database will need to be patched. Once you install v9, use the Database and Reports Wizard to automatically upgrade your database. Once you have upgraded your database, previous versions of HelpMaster Pro will not be able to connect to it.
- If you need technical support, please refer to the helpfile, the online resources, or contact our tech support team. Please report any issues you may find with the software so that we can get onto them as quickly as possible.
- Finally, read the manual! Full upgrade instructions are provided in the helpfile. If something is not clear, please let us know.
Best regards,
Rod
