    Hello HelpMasters!

We are looking to improve the functionality of the Active Directory module.   What ideas do you have?  What do you wish it did?

Here's a few ideas that we are currently receiving via tech support / sales enquiries etc.

    1. Ability to revoke client web licences based on Active/Inactive status in AD
    2. Ability to disable / remove / delete a HelpMaster client if their corresponding AD user account is moved to another OU
    3. Ability to map site / company information to the HelpMaster client
    4. Better reporting
    5. Easier installation and configuration

    Anything else?

    OK, quick update for everyone.

We have totally re-coded the inner working of the Active Directory module to use native Microsoft .Net technology (rather than the SQL Server access method). This means that the AD module will be offer a lot more functionality and be more stable, faster and much easier to improve in future releases.

So far we've covered all of the points above, and are still looking for more ideas on how to improve it.

New version will be release with HelpMaster v12.  See http://www.helpmasterpro....-HelpMaster-v12.aspx for details.

    Let us know!

    Thanks,
    Rod

Add the ability to get the managers email address. Can currently access the Manager values but the details are CN=Users Manager ,OU=IT,OU=Head Office,DC=company,DC=net,DC=au. If the managers email address was available (could be accessed in email templates and Action templates) then the workflow and automation would allow for improved escalation and approval.

    Thanks

    Hi Sam,

Thanks for your post and welcome to the discussion boards. This is a great idea. Currently HelpMaster doesn't support this, but we'll definitely put this on our development wish list and see what can be done.

I agree that it would be good to have more options in the Priority Manager / Action templates to allow emailing to more people/roles etc and/or other email addresses.

    Thanks,
    Rod
