One of the major new features of the next version of HelpMaster is the control sets.

Think of control sets like mini-forms that you can design, and then associate with jobs, clients, sites and assets.

Controls sets are similar to custom fields in that you can define the control type, values, and validation, however the awesome thing about control sets is that you can add one or more of them to each entity type within HelpMaster.  Individual control-set fields can also contain conditional logic to display further fields if a value, or item is filled in.  Using this, you can create cascading data-entry forms.

Controls Sets overcome a restriction with the current implementation of custom fields.  The restriction with the existing custom data fields of HelpMaster is that you can only define 1 set of custom fields per entity, and then EVERY entity of that type gets those fields, regardless of whether they are in context or not.

Control Sets allow you to define the custom fields, and then link/associate it with an individual entity.  Using the "Control Sets" tab, you can then swap between multiple control sets.  The existing custom tab is also still available.

Control Sets can be linked to Job Templates, displayed when actioning a job, and can be used/manipulated via workflow.

Control Sets will quickly become a vital part of your new HelpMaster configuration, particularly the new web portal!

Very cool, and very powerful indeed.
