    Hi..

We currently experiancing licensing error windows popping up.

It is so random that we cannot pin-point where it is going wrong.

When I check the logon session in HM System Admin, there is only a handful of users which is much much less than licensed number.

I made sure the user was not double logging from multi workstation ether.

But after a while (2~5Min) user can logon normally.

    Regards

    Hi
What version of HelpMaster are you using?

Sometimes this behaviour can be caused by intermittent network errors. Basically, if a client cannot communicate with the server for more than 2 minutes, HelpMaster assumes the client computer / connection has been lost and it will force a log-off in order to reclaim the licence from non-responsive clients.

Is there any sort of client-side activity that is locking up the machine, or would otherwise prevent HelpMaster from connecting to the database?

    Thanks,
    Rod

    Thanks Rod.

I think we found out what was going on.

As you said, the communication between server and client was timing out.

Due to such a long to launch HM in our environment , users are working on different PC while HM comes up and leaving the welcome screen for too long. When user finally click 'Close' on welcome screen Licensing error Windows popup.

    Regards

Thanks for the update. We will investigate how we can improve this situation.

Regarding the Welcome screen, if it causes issues you can turn it off by unchecking the "Display at logon" checkbox.

    Best regards,

     Thanks Rod.

That is exactly what we did. Straight into job explorer.

But how would you do this from server level so that it applies to everyone rather than per user.

We had ask every user to uncheck welcome screen.

    Regards

Glad to hear this worked for you. Currently there is no way to do a bulk-update of all staff members' welcome screen settings via the HelpMaster interface. As you mentioned, each staff member will need to update their personal setting on their own Welcome screen.
