Folks
We use HMP in a multi-customer environment, where separation of customer data is absolutely essential.
Rod and his team made modifications to the search funtions on the web interface that solved the problem for us.
However you must structure your client and site data in such a way that allows you to assign the privileges to the relevant levels.
In our case the highest level is ourselves, ASI, we then break it into
ASI
Customer
Country
State/province
Area
Locality
In this way we can assign rights to each level and by adding users into the appropriate level they can only see data relating to themselves or their subordinate organisations.
So anyone at the locality level can only see data relating to that location
At the area level they can see all localities associated with that area and nothing in any other area
At the state level they can see all the areas under them and of course all the localities under each area but no data for any other state and so forth.
We have found that combined with the enhanced web search functions that this has worked very well allowing us to provide the appropriate level of access to each level.
Hope this helps
John
