    Hi All,

I am hoping to find a system tag for use with email templates that can show the current amount of jobs in a queue or even better, how many job are ahead of this one in the queue (based on date logged/job number).

So far i havent found anything under the existing list of system tags via the insert button, but i have seen a "custom fields" option that enters <> and im hoping there is a way to display this information.

To give you some background, one of our helpdesk users would like clients to be able to be provided with some form of expectation/understanding of their workload when a new job is logged. We looked at enabling clients to see all jobs logged for all clients via the web module however this potentially exposes confidential information in these job as well as the attachments, so we cannot use this option.

Any help or ideas would be appreciated

    Hi Adam,

Thanks for the post and welcome to the HelpMaster Pro forum.

This is a great idea. The system tag for a job queue should be a relatively easy modification.

The concept of identifying which jobs are in front or behind the current job is an interesting topic. We've recently had almost the exact same feature request from another HelpMaster Pro user last week. We'll be discussing this concept at an upcoming developers meeting, so any further information that anyone has on this subject would be most welcome.

The issue gets interesting when jobs are automatically updating whenever a more urgent job is entered into the system. Essentially, all the other jobs will be shuffled down the priority list. I guess we need to work out the best way to implement this and what algorithms etc to use for it.

As a workaround for your current situation, nothing comes to mind at the moment. I know that some other HelpMaster Pro users have created a custom web-based dashboard that continually updates with job counts etc, but as for a built-in mechanism, there isn't much at present.

Thanks again for the suggestion. Best regards,

    Rod
