Hi Tony,
Thanks for your post. Sorry to hear you're having trouble on day one of your v9 upgrade. Let's address each of these issues separately.
1. Slow performance.
Slow performance is almost always a database indexing / maintenance issue. The version 9 upgrade process involves substantial database schema changes. This means that tables, views, stored procedures and other database objects are all modified extensively to cater for the upgrade in features. As a consequence of this, many of the database indexes that used to work well under previous schemas may no longer apply, or be as effective under the new schema. The version 9 database upgrade creates several new indexes to cater for this, however old, or existing indexes may still be present that are slowing things down. After an upgrade, it is recommended that your database administrator perform a full database maintenance job. This will involve rebuilding all existing database indexes, defragmenting them and performing a full database backup. This will shrink the database and log files and you should return to better than normal database performance.
2. Crashing.
To date we've logged a job regarding the duplication of Active Directory clients, and the fact that AD synchronized staff members do not automatically log on to the desktop, both of which seem to be configuration issues. Our tech support will be addressing these with your shortly. We have not received any crash reports as yet. If you are experiencing some sort of unexpected crash and the usual "Email to PRD Software" button is not working, please manually email the details of the crash to support @ prd-software.com.au and we'll look into it.
3. Closing jobs
The Apply and OK buttons are greyed out because there is no text entered into the closure text box. Once you type something in that box, these buttons will become active. As far as I'm aware, this is the behaviour of version 8 as well. Would you like to see a different behaviour here?
Best regards,
Rod
